According to Sidecar, an e-commerce marketing technology firm, retail clients who have been investing in Product Listing Ads (PLAs) nearly double their Google ad revenue in Q2.

More specifically, Sidecar’s clients saw a click increase of 125% and orders directly originating from the clients’ PLAs increased 92%. Part of this dramatic increase is most likely due to Google removing text ads from the right column of desktop search result.

If you still had doubts on whether Product Listing Ads work, don’t. This is only the beginning and those who chose to include them in their marketing efforts are seeing the results.
What Are Product Listing Ads?

Product Listing Ads are image-based ads focused on products and product categories. They are cost per click (CPC) keyword based ads that retailers purchase through AdWords. You can find Product Listing Ads on Google Search pages on the top and left hand side.

Google PLAs have seen a constant growth since its launch, with no sign of slowing down. The image-based ads are very effective. In fact, revenue from PLAs grew 261% on smartphones only, while desktop ads drove 57% of all Google Shopping revenue.
