Spending on Google shopping ads rose nearly 50% year over year in Q4 2014.

While texts ad still lead retail ad spending, Google shopping ad spending grew 47%.
Meanwhile, spending on Google text ads was down 6%.

The impact of this spending is reflected in searcher behaviour; PLAs accounted for one-fifth of retail search ad clicks in Q4 2014.
